About the Foundation

Mission

The Foundation inspires investments in nature for
discovery, research and education to foster solutions for our future.

Our planet and all its living creatures face urgent threats
yet only a tiny fraction of philanthropy currently supports nature

The Nature Foundation inspires investments in nature.
Focused on transformational philanthropy, we are the charitable arm of the Canadian Museum of Nature, keeper of Canada’s natural record and a trusted national institution with notable research expertise in species discovery and change, and Arctic knowledge and exploration.

We believe creating a better natural future starts with learning from the past and studying the present to foster solutions for our future.
When you support the Nature Foundation you join a generous, solutions-focused community in advancing fact-based science through vital funding that empowers the Museum’s educational and research initiatives. By collecting, analyzing, and preserving millions of specimens and sharing data that tracks environmental change over time, our work guides critical science-based decisions around the world on climate challenges, species at risk, conservation, and aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.

We must create a world where people understand and value nature.
Your support enables the Museum to train the next generation of collections-based researchers in Canada, and it advances dynamic educational programming that fosters a love of nature among people of all ages.

You care about nature. You want your gift to have global impact. Support the Nature Foundation.
You will help fund bold projects that lead change, strengthen our collective understanding of the natural world, and contribute to a sustainable future for our planet.
